Education By Design launches Learning Impulse site for primary school educators



SAN JOSE, Calif., February 28, 2008 - Education By Design announced today that it is launching a new site called Learning Impulse (www.learningimpulse.com), which is targeted for use in primary school classrooms. Learning Impulse is an interactive learning tool that teachers can use as a tool to reinforce lessons and information taught in the classroom. It was designed to be fun and entertaining for students so that they will be more enthusiastic about classroom lessons. It is also free for use to educators.

Learning Impulse’s patent-pending interactive impulse learning technology is entirely web-based, making it easily accessible to teachers who have an Internet connection in their classroom. Since the program is made for use on the web, it can be integrated either into lesson plans or homework. "In researching the use of educational games in the classroom," said CEO, Chris Folayan, "we found that many researchers and educators believe that games help students retain information better. That's why we're reaching out to elementary school teachers and parents: so they can have this tool to make learning fun and help their students and children in that process."

The site contains basic information regarding the service, outlining the uses and advantages of implementing Learning Impulse in classrooms. In addition to providing an application through which teachers can create interactive games, Learning Impulse also allows students to create their own user accounts and check their scores on the games they've played. Teachers can view reports of their students' scores, which will give them the ability to track progress and use of the games they create for their class.

With regard to a first-grade game made for testing, four-year-old Shemar said, "I like it because it's fun and I can play on the computer." His mother, Rita, was equally pleased with Learning Impulse. "He likes that it's a game, and I like that it's teaching him something. Rather than just stare at a screen, he's reading and learning, but still having fun. I don't have to worry about coaxing him into doing a little homework because he actually enjoys it."
